Over the last couple of months, weddings have recommenced in earnest at the Cathedral Parish of St Joseph with priests travelling from rural properties to our coast to ensure couples are able to celebrate their special day in a COVID-Safe environment.
The Cathedral Parish of St Joseph's busy wedding schedule for 2020 was completely turned upside down when coronavirus restrictions came into effect in late March. Couples were left understanding but devastated that the big day that they had planned so long for was now in limbo with no real way of knowing when it could be rescheduled.
The wait for restrictions regarding person's allowed at a wedding celebration to ease was agonizing for couples. Cathedral Parish Office staff did all they could to assist wedding parties as many scrambled to change dates and often even the venue of their wedding. Fortunately many months and a few relaxed restrictions later, couples are now once again able to celebrate this momentous occasion with their loved ones present.
Weddings for 2020 will come to a crescendo this weekend with three weddings being celebrated in three days over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of October. We wish all couples all the very best during this exciting time.
Whilst after this weekend weddings at the Cathedral Parish of St Joseph are completed for 2020; Parish clergy and staff are already preparing for an extremely busy 2021 due to postponed weddings combining with pre-planned 2021 weddings.
