With changes to how we check-in for mass being made by The Queensland Government, pre-registrations at mass will come to an end; replaced by The QLD Check In App.
It's been a wild ride this past year with yo-yoing restrictions and all sorts of different ways for people to check-in. So the purpose of this post is just to say thanks for sticking by us during this messy time.
Thanks for hanging in there during the dizzying amount of check-in methods, the long lines at the front of the church, the times when you pre-registered but your name wasn't on the list, when the website wasn't showing the right mass times and so much more.
A huge thank you also goes to the volunteers who spent hours upon hours during the pandemic sitting at the front of the church making sure everyone was checked-in for mass, evening sacrificing some of their own worship time in the process. The office didn't always get things right and your ability to soldier on despite our mistakes is a testament to how wonderful the Parish's team of volunteers are.
Thank you to the Diocese and our fellow parishes, your assistance and advice during this time gave us reassurance that we were all in this together.
COVID-19 is still far from going away, but the team at the Cathedral Parish of St Joseph thank everyone for their patience, support and assistance over the past year and a bit and hope that one day we reflect on this time over a cuppa after mass.
